Terms of Service

Last updated 3 November 2026

These terms are between you and RJ Macarthy, a sole trader in the United Kingdom trading as qbitty ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them.

1. The service

qbitty gives you short links at qbitty.com and QR codes that point at them. You choose where each link sends people, and you can change that at any time. We show you scan counts by day, country and device.

2. Trial, price and cancelling

New accounts get 14 days free with everything included. After that qbitty costs $5 a month, billed by Stripe. Cancel any time from the billing portal. Your subscription runs to the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't give refunds for part-months.

Your codes keep working. If you don't subscribe after the trial, or you cancel, the codes you've made keep sending people to wherever they pointed. We won't show ads on them or redirect them anywhere else. While you aren't subscribed you can still sign in, see your stats and export your codes, but you can't make new codes or change existing ones. If we ever have to shut qbitty down, we'll give you at least 6 months' notice by email.

If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.

3. Acceptable use

Don't point a qbitty code at anything illegal, at phishing or malware, at pages pretending to be another business, or at content that is sexually explicit or promotes violence. Don't use qbitty for spam. If a code breaks these rules we may switch it off, and we may close the account. This is the only reason we will ever switch a code off. Report a harmful qbitty code using the form at rjmacarthy.xyz.

4. Your content

You own your codes, links and PDFs. You give us permission to store them and serve them to people who scan your codes. You're responsible for having the right to publish what you upload.

5. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep qbitty running, but we can't promise it will never be unavailable. Please keep a copy of anything important. Except where the law doesn't allow us to limit it, our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or the cost of reprinting. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

6. Closing your account

Contact us to close your account. Its codes stop working and its data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy. Export your codes first.

7. Changes and law

We'll email you about any important changes to these terms before they apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
